Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an MP4 to a GIF?

Choose your MP4, set the start and end of the part you want, pick an output width, frame rate, and quality, then select Convert to GIF. The looping GIF appears with a preview and a download button, usually within a few seconds.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. Your browser reads the video frames and encodes the GIF on your own device, and nothing is sent to Launch Blitz. Closing the tab discards the file.

How do I make the GIF file smaller?

Shorten the trim, choose a narrower width, lower the frame rate, or switch to the Small file quality preset. Width and length matter most: halving the width cuts the pixels in every frame by about 75 percent.

What are the limits?

Source videos can be up to 300 MB, 10 minutes, and 4K. Each GIF can cover up to 30 seconds and 300 frames at up to 800 pixels wide, which keeps the browser responsive. The video must use a codec your browser can play, such as H.264.

Does the GIF keep sound?

No. The GIF format has no audio track, so the result is a silent animation that loops forever. If you need sound, keep the clip as a video instead.
